Worship Leader

Katie Schulte Latif
Hi, Katie here!
I am the current worship leader and lead vocalist for our wonderful praise team!
I was born and raised in Texas and have lived in Navasota for a majority of my life. Growing up, my parents and older siblings were ALWAYS listening to music and they all listened to a plethora of different genres, so I always had a variety of great music to listen to.
As I grew a little older, I would always fiddle around with the keyboard we had, eventually making up my own songs. When I was about 11, I decided I wanted to take piano lessons, so my mom found a piano teacher for me to take lessons with and that was it... I loved it! Ever since then, I have continued to play the piano and even teach myself how to play 5 more instruments - I hope to learn even more!
Now on to singing. I have always loved to sing, however, I was too shy to even show my mom that I could until I was about 11, the same age I decided to play piano. Over the years I typically sang by myself or with my cousin who would visit occasionally, but I was too afraid to sing in front of anyone else. When I became a freshman in high school, a few of my friends discovered my voice and encouraged me to join the praise band we had at school, who lead worship every Tuesday for chapel. I took their encouragement and gathered up my courage, and my sophomore year I joined. It was a struggle at first. I was always nervous and always anxious. But the more I did it, the better it got. More importantly, once I focused on why I was singing, that made it that much better. I still struggle with the anxiety to this day, and being a worship leader is brand new to me. But I am always continuing to remind myself what worship is for and why I'm doing it... JESUS!
I pray that every time you come to church, Christ speaks through me and the rest of the praise team, and that we can give you music that brings you joy and encompasses you with Christ's love!

"Q" Qaiser Latif
Howdy! My name is Qaiser Latif.
I was born and raised in Fairfax, Virginia by my mother and father and began to pick up music at the ripe age of 10. After messing around with the flute, violin and guitar, I stumbled upon the drums and fell in love right away. I’ve been playing for about 18 years now.
Playing drums for worship has taught me not only more about music but also more about god; and how blessed I am to wake up each and every day!
